synopsis
During the United States manned mission of a colonial family to our nearest star Alpha Centuari, a foreign spy, Dr. Zachary Smith, sabotages the Robot; a mobile environmental servant. The orders to the Robot are to destroy the Jupiter II spacecraft after 8 hours into the flight and the family and pilot within. Unable to exit the departing spacecraft in time, Smith finds himself an "Accidental Stowaway." With a weight shift and a changed flight profile, the Jupiter II heads to a meteor shower and is almost destroyed. The Robot, still under orders to destroy the ship, begins to wreak havoc on the control systems and is stopped just in time. But with severely damaged systems and without guidance, the Jupiter II is now Lost in Space..
